Radio Guide
We utlize the WhackerLink system suite for our radio communications. WhackerLink is a open-source project that emulates P25 digital type radio networks and hardware, providing an authentic and relistic voice communication platform.
It's essential that you have your default microphone device set in your Windows settings. This is the microphone WhackerLink will use to communicate. Otherwise, the microphone WhackerLink uses may be incorrect.
Setup
- Your radio is already set up for you based on what role your character has been assigned. This will automatically select your RID (Radio Identifier) and codeplug that you need.
- Next you'll need to turn on your radio. You can do this by either:
- Pressing ; and clicking the radio knob
- Pressing P (may conflict with your pause menu keybind)
- Now that your radio is on, it should have automatically placed you in Dispatch 1. This is the main channel that we use for all communications, statewide.
- To transmit on the network, press your CAPSLOCK button and speak loudly and clearly. Please be mindful to not cut yourself short, leave about 1 second after transmission before releasing your PTT.
- You can activate an emergency on your radio as well by utilizing the DEL key. This should only be used for urgent emergency situations.
Your keybindings may vary. If a button isn’t working for you, check your keybindings in your settings.

Network Structure
The network structure organizes radio channels by role, ensuring clear communication. Shared channels are accessible to all, while Fire/EMS and Law channels are restricted to their respective teams for specialized operations. Below is the full outline of the network structure, the (M) indicates a dispatch monitored channel.
Sometimes these channels will be refered to numerically, for example "Tune to channel 3". The number after each descriptor for the channel is the numeric identifier for that channel.
The radio knob cycles through the channels in this order: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1. This means turning the knob past channel 7 will return you to channel 1, ensuring both ends of the knob always select the monitored statewide Dispatch channel. Channels can be cycled with the PAGEUP and PAGEDOWN keys, or by pressing ; to bring your radio into focus and clicking the channel selector nob.

I can hear people, but nobody can hear me?
- WhackerLink uses your system default microphone, not what you have set in GTA 5/FiveM. Please make sure your microphone is set as default in Windows!
-
I can't hear people too well/The radio is quiet for me.
- WhackerLink uses the "FiveM Chromium subprocess" for its audio channel. Please make sure its turned all the way up in your Windows Volume Mixer. You can also adjust the volume of the radio with the NUMPAD+ and NUMPAD- keybinds.
-
My radio won't go all the way to the edge of the screen.
- This is a known bug within WhackerLink when you change the scale of the radio. You won't be able to drag it to the edge of the screen unless you have reset the scale of the radio to its original.
